Brewery Magazine Articles

To explore layout and text hierarchy through articles for a beer and brewing centered magazine.

While this project didn’t require a fully written article, I still engaged in researching topics to insure that they would be an excellent fit for the brand of the magazine. The challenge for this aspect of the magazine design was completely layout based.

I experimented with fonts and scale to showcase a clear hierarchy. I chose to lean heavily into photo inclusion so that they articles didn’t get overly weighed down by the text. I did still choose to make the articles appear wordier and put the body text in a serif font to represent what would be appealing to the older, detail oriented target audience. To add a more personal touch I chose to visit the location featured in the first article. I was able to capture several photos that I edited in Photoshop, and included within the article. This is showcased in the photos of the food and drink from the included page (third page).
