Product Ad

Task:

To create an ad for a product of my choosing.

Details:

The assignment for this project was incredibly open which resulted in a lot of decision making. I wanted to choose a product that was colorful and gave me a wide palette to play with. Additionally, I knew that I wanted to utilize my own images to show off the product.

The most difficult aspect of this project was the photoshoot. I wanted to shoot at night in order to capture the fun headlights on the car. Shooting at night also provided a blank background to let the car, the subject, and the product stand out. In order to overcome the lighting difficulty we created a set up using the headlights of a different car.

I wanted this project to feel centered in color. I pulled inspiration from the colors featured in the palette and the packaging. Blue and orange were a recurring theme that aesthetically made sense. Since the palette is inspired by travel I wanted to make the model and the car feel like a package deal. I utilized photoshop to help create a close color match to make it clear that they belonged together. I chose to emphasize the warm tones in the makeup to then contrast all of the cool blue tones.
